It seems that RIM has gotten the issue fixed. I just did a battery pull and BBM is working flawlessly again. But I would still like to know if there is an answer to this question for future reference.

There have been a lot of problems with BBM the past few days (in regards to avatar pictures and contact restore). When I try to restore my contacts from a email backup it tells me "Please try again later. You are currently being registered with the BlackBerry Messenger Service. This is an automatic process that will complete in a few minutes."

So I am asking, How do you re-register an email address to BBM?

Mines not working. I wiped my bold in hopes of correcting the problem with the profiles....lost all my contacts even though i backed them up on the media card. bbm 5.0 doesn't recognize it's own backup files. :(

All I did was do a battery pull yesterday and when the phone came back on and I opened up BBM it recognized my backups again. – it2swbrown Nov 5 at 16:18
I think this could have something to do with that outtage reported the day that Bograma mentioned in my post the other day. – TRUMPF Nov 6 at 13:45

I made my backup of BBM 5 contacts before upgrading to .304. Upgraded and restored. The message came telling me I will receive a verification e-mail and that my contacts will be restored. It did in 2 minutes. To re-register your email(s) please go to BBM / Back Up Contact List/Back Up Files Remotely/Check if it's enabled/Click an e-mail address to edit it.Should say "registered".
