So I just upgraded by blackberry bold 9000 to the new OS 4.6.0.297. Ever since I did that, all my ringtones for all my applications have gone from a normal volume to something quieter then low volume for each application.

Has this happened to anyone else? What have you done to fix this?

That never happened to me when I was using .297. Make sure your Sound Profile is on the right setting. I always keep mine on Loud or Vibrate. Then you can check in the individual profile (Sound Profile>Edit Profiles>Click whatever profile you are using>Click whatever sound you want louder>Volume and make sure it at whatever level you want. I keep mine on 10 for all of my sounds.

Hope that isn't too confusing.

I don't have that option to keep it on 10. I wish I could manually adjust the volume like you mentioned. I only have "Mute" "Low" "Medium" "High" and "Escalating". What kind of BB do you have? What OS are you running? – TRUMPF Nov 3 at 13:09

I've heard about it a few times. Everybody recommends wipe&reinstall OS, although I am not sure this fixed it. Why not use the Loud profile?I find it unbearable loud on mine; I have .247.

I have 9 other people in my office. I get an email on my phone every few minutes or so through out the day. I don't think they'd appreciate my 'loud' blackberry. I'll try wiping it and reloading later this week. The idea of doing that came to me at lunch today. – TRUMPF Nov 3 at 18:35
You see, that's the reason I'm still on .247. All kinds of problems appear when you upgrade. It's a good platform, I'll keep it like this. You should do the same. I once lost most of my apps, other times I lost Contacts (I had a backup) and it's a pain in the back to get it back. – Bograma Nov 4 at 7:31

Didn't work for me. I not only didn't fix my profile problem, but now lost all my bbm 5.0 contacts. non of the back up options worked.

turns out it wasn't the software on the blackberry, but the hardware itself. Warranty replacement device fixed the problem.

Thanks for everyone's input though!
