I know that there are apps for doing it (BerryAnnoying being one) but I'm not sure that you can do it by yourself without the need for an app. |

There is an alternative app available too, developed by the now infamous (among most BlackBerry SmartPhone circles) Fabian Heuwieser. I thought I had downloaded it from the MobiHand Store, but when I returned to confirm its origin it wasnt listed on the site.. I even went as far as to check on Fabian"s own site, http://mobileutil.com and had no such luck there as well!? It too is only functional on GSM models. |

On the Tour (9630) you can not turn the shutter sound off. You have to get the BerryAnnoying app. This works very well. |

The alternative app is (was) called CameraMuteApp, but Fabian has pulled it from his site. Currently, the Tour 9630 is the only CDMA BlackBerry that can have the camera shutter sound muted, albeit only with a third-party app like BerryAnnoying. |

QuickLaunch has camera mute built into the newest version (2.09). It will work on CDMA carriers as well (Verizon) |

Does anyone know why only GSM BlackBerries are supported? GSM and CDMA are different network technologies. Why should that have any bearing on if the camera sound can be muted on CDMA or not? |
